About

The Office of Safe and Respectable Learning (OSRL) was established with a vision to prevent harassment and discrimination, and to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice at King’s College, thereby, creating a safe and respectable learning space for all students, staff and faculty members. OSRL is dedicated to creating a campus culture where our members can pursue their academic, professional, and social activities without fear and intimidation, and with dignity and respect.

OSRL works towards:

  • Developing policies, programs, and procedures to prevent harassment and discrimination, track impunity, take disciplinary actions against perpetrators, extend necessary support to victims and survivors, and protect victims, survivors, whistleblowers, and watchdogs.
  • Developing programs and resources to aware and educate our community members.
  • Engaging in research to monitor diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice within the community, and to evaluate OSRL’s impact, developing evidence-based interventions.

Safe and Respectable Learning Policy

All students and staff members at King’s College are protected by the prevalent laws of the nation, which includes the Labor Act 2074, the Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act 2015, the Electronic Transactions Act 2063 (for online actions), and King’s College’s Safe and Respectable Learning Policy. The college also maintains a Victim Protection and Support Policy to support students, staff, and faculty members.

If anyone feels attacked, harassed, or discriminated, they are encouraged to report (anonymously, if they want) to the Office of Safe and Respectable Learning (OSRL). The victim shall be protected under the nation’s “Crime Victim Protection Act, 2075 (2018).” Such acts will be dealt with, as misconduct under the organization’s disciplinary procedures, and appropriate action will be taken under the Sexual Harassment Policy Remedial mechanisms of King’s College.

King’s College and the OSRL will fully ensure confidentiality, fair treatment, the right to express the opinion, and respect the choice of the victim during and after the report and investigation process. The OSRL will deal with each case on an individual basis as the nature of each case will be different, and accordingly suggest the victim seek legal advice or psychological support.
